Man released on bail after being arrested, accused of raping a woman in Adelaide's CBD

A man has been arrested and released on bail after being accused of raping a woman in the heart of Adelaide this weekend.

Details are scare, however, 7 News can confirm a 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with raping a woman in the city’s CBD overnight on Saturday.

Police have refused to release any details on the location, but the man’s arrest has done little allay community fears.

The incident comes on the eve of Adelaide’s busy festival season when thousands of people are expected to flock to the city.

The man has been released on bail and is due to front court in April.
