Man charged over alleged weapons, drug haul

A man with alleged links to outlaw motorcycle gangs has been arrested and charged over an alleged weapons and drug find at his home in Adelaide’s west.

Police say detectives from Operation Alpha allegedly located about 200 rounds of ammunition, magazines for handguns and semi-automatic rifles, five extendable batons, a box of fireworks and 30 cans of pepper spray at the man’s Seaton home.

They also allegedly located an amount of cocaine and amphetamine, along with 1kg of cannabis.

He has been charged with trafficking controlled substances, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of insecure ammunition.

Police say the man is not a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang, but they will allege he has links to bikie gangs.

The 24-year-old man was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
