Two men arrested after police pursuit

Two men have been arrested following a police pursuit that began in the state's south east and ended in Adelaide.

Police are still talking with the men, aged 24 and 20, but they are likely to face a range of charges including illegal use, engaging in a police pursuit to avoid apprehension and aggravated robbery.

One of the suspects is wanted for escaping custody and a parole board warrant.

The drama began near Naracoorte at about 1.30pm today when police began chasing a white Holden Commodore stolen from Mt Gambier, but abandoned the pursuit due to high speeds.

The men then allegedly stole vehicles at Keith and Mt Barker before police spiked the car's tires and it stopped near the tollgate at the bottom of the South Eastern Freeway.

One of the suspects tried to flee on foot but was arrested.

The second man then stole another vehicle with a woman still in it, who was then released a short distance away.

He dumped the car and was found in the rear yard of a house at Pasadena at about 4.15pm.

It is understood the men also attempted to steal other vehicles between the tollgate and Pasadena.
