Remarkable photo shows snake's tactic to score a second helping

When it comes to reptile news, it’s often Australian snakes who make the headlines thanks to their unnerving hidings spots and oversized meals.

Yet one serpent across the Pacific has tried its best to steal the limelight with its remarkable method of scoring itself a second helping.

An amazing image uploaded to Facebook by The Reptile Report on Monday shows a yellow rat snake indulging in its latest feast as it hangs from a roof.

While a rat can be seen protruding from its mouth, the snake has its next course well and truly covered as it traps another rodent in a coil in its body.

Users were quick to flock to the post in awe of the snake’s multitasking.

“Life lesson here: even if you are eating at the moment, always grab a to-go plate for later,” one commented read.

“One for now, one for dessert!” another quipped.

“Save some rats for the other snakes buddy,” one user jokingly urged.

While the location of the snake is unknown, the snake is native to the US state of Florida.
