Father-of-four murdered in Brisbane front yard while 'checking power outage'
A 35-year-old father has been murdered in the front yard of his Brisbane home after going to investigate a power outage overnight.
Police say the father-of-four went to check the power around 12.30am on Wednesday on Saint George Street in the suburb of Kuraby when he was attacked with an unknown weapon.
He was found dead in the front yard of the house a short time later with multiple significant wounds, police say.
A full manhunt for a murderer is now underway with homicide detectives saying they don't yet know if the attack was random or not.
His wife and their four children, all reportedly aged under 10, were inside the house at the time of this attack and it’s understood the father had been stabbed multiple times.

His wife called police, who arrived and attempted to resuscitate the man and called paramedics, but he could not be saved.
Police have said the investigation is in the very early stages but described the father as a quiet family man and they cannot find any motive for the attack at this stage.
The father ran the local Indian restaurant and worked in IT, said a friend of 18 years who told Sunrise he was devastated by the news.
Queensland Police Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said the father was found “on the ground in the front yard, he had suffered significant injuries”.
“They rendered assistance and called for the embolus, sadly the man died, and at the moment we have detectives from the Brisbane region, homicide squad, scientific and a number of general duties offices conducting the investigation,” Det Supt Fleming added.
"It is normally a quiet area. This is certainly not something that we expected and that's why we have pulled all our resources out and we are following up with as much vigour as we can," detective Tony Fleming has told reporters.
The neighbourhood is described as a busy area, with worshipers arriving at nearby mosque on Wednesday morning for prayers as they investigation unfolds.
Acquaintances have told the Seven Network the man attended evening prayers at a local mosque on Tuesday night.
Police blocked off the street as they begin the hunt for what could be multiple attackers.
