Razor allegedly held to teen's throat in terrifying shop attack

CCTV has filmed a terrifying attempted robbery in Queensland, where a teenage girl allegedly had a razor held to her throat.

Queensland Police have praised the 14-year-old shop attendant for remaining calm during the ordeal.

Footage shows the alleged attack, which occurred at Charters Towers, south-west of Townsville, on Saturday.

The alleged attacker held a razor blade at the girl's neck. The teen suffered a minor neck injury before she freed herself and alerted another staff member.

The store manager told 7 News Online he sensed something was wrong and raced to action.

"When she came in and told me there was a man out the back, that's when I knew something was wrong and I raced out to see him and he was already on his way out," the shop manager told 7 News.
