Three-year-old injured at Inflatable World play centre dies

A three-year-old boy has died after being injured at a popular play centre on Sunday.

Hunter Young's parents made the heart-wrenching decision to turn off his life support at Brisbane's Lady Cilento Hospital on Monday.

Little Hunter was found unresponsive at Inflatable World Toowoomba around 1pm on Sunday after suffering head injuries at the play centre.

The three-year-old was under the care of his grandparents when he was hurt in the under five's area of the centre.

Witnesses told 7 News Hunter was playing unsupervised at the time, with members of the public providing first aid until an ambulance arrived.

He was taken to Toowoomba Hospital before being transferred to Brisbane's Lady Cilento Children's Hospital where he died on Monday.

It remains unclear exactly how Hunter sustained his head injuries at the centre.

Inflatable World Toowoomba issued a statement on Tuesday, offering their condolences to the Young family.

"We are devastated by the news that a child has passed away in hospital after collapsing at our venue on Sunday afternoon," the spokesperson said.

"A full investigation involving all relevant authorities is underway, we have also undertaken our own internal investigation, are working with authorities and have passed on our findings.

"Inflatable World takes the health and safety of our patrons, staff and others very seriously while they are on our site and have taken extensive measures to ensure we have the highest standards for workplace safety."

Inflatable World has 50 centres across Australia, excluding NT, offering a massive indoor play area for children of all ages.

Police and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating Hunter's death.
