Woman 'assaulted' in Brisbane residence over three-month period

A man has been charged with multiple offences after a woman was allegedly assaulted in a Brisbane residence over a number of months.

Authorities carried out a search warrant at the property at Zillmere on Saturday afternoon just after 5pm, where police allegedly found cash and drugs including cannabis and methamphetamine.

The 31-year-old from Zillmere was yesterday charged with drug trafficking, assault occasioning bodily harm, torture, one count of deprivation of liberty and seven counts of sexual assault.

Police say the woman is known to the man and it will be alleged she was assaulted at the property over a period of three months.

According to the ABC the man's lawyer, Adam Magill, said his client was not taking it well and will be contesting the charges.

"He's denying any offending at this point in time and he's given very clear instructions that he'll be contesting all the matters." Mr Magill reportedly said.

The man has reportedly been remanded in custody with the matter set to return to court in July.
