'If she jumps': Shoppers pan 'too small' bikini

The tiny bikini trend isn’t new, but one model’s look on social media has got some shoppers wondering whether sometimes small is in fact too small.

The latest look making some people scratch their heads is the Rose Tan Velvet Toggle Triangle Bikini top and bottom by Pretty Little Thing, a photo of which was shared to the brand’s Instagram page this week.

“Who wishes they were on vacation now,” the image was captioned.

But the soft pink velvet number had a few wondering whether the design would hold up to any kind of swimming, let alone movement.

“If she jumps it's game over,” one person commented.

“I think she got a size too small,” another mused, with a third agreeing: “Or several sizes.”

“How TF do you swim in that?” was another confused response.

“One move and you’re screwed.”

There were plenty of others, however, that loved the look for summer, saying the design was “gorgeous” and that “summer was sorted”.

A growing trend

The small bikini trend isn’t confined to social media or youth brands like Pretty Little Thing, and a number of big name celebrities have shared photos of themselves in swimwear deemed ‘a size too small’ by their fans.

Rita Ora, Emily Ratajkowski and Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry have all sported the look, so it feels like only a matter of time before more and more of these bikinis hit the shelves.
