Police may have unknowingly arrested a serial killer

A murder suspect has made a chilling confession after he was arrested over the death of a man found in an apartment.

Erik Stocker, 77, was found dead in the US state of Florida on May 1, 10 days after it is believed he was killed with a samurai sword, local news station WSVN reports.

Police then arrested suspect Nicholas Brent Gibson, who reportedly lived with Stocker at one point.

Gibson was arrested in New York on Sunday, WSVN reports, before he then allegedly confessed to police he was involved in six other murders in Georgia, Florida and California.

According to the news station, detectives are able to support murder charges with physical evidence in relation to Stocker’s death. Police are investigating whether his confession to the other murders is legitimate.

A resident in Miami Beach where Stocker lived in his condo said Gibson “walks like he is angry”.

“It’s unbelievable. I never would have known,” he told WSVN.
