Police hunting man after attempted child abduction

A man is being sought for allegedly trying to kidnap two children from a home southeast of Perth.

A 67-year-old woman was at her Anderson Street home in Forrestfield on Wednesday at about 10.15am when a man allegedly knocked on her door pretending to deliver a letter.

The grandmother had two girls with her, aged eight and seven years old.

The man pushed past the grandmother and then attempted to lure the eight-year-old to accompany him, police said.

He is then alleged to have asked the same of the seven-year-old, but both refused. He then left.

The man is described as being of stocky build, with olive skin, and short black hair.

He may have been driving a vehicle similar to a grey Honda CRV, with the number plates obscured.
