How this photo led police to aspiring comedian's accused killer

It has been revealed how Victoria Police managed to track down the man accused of murdering young comedian Eurydice Dixon on a soccer pitch in Melbourne.

The clearest photo of Jaymes Todd, 19, was captured at a McDonald’s on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD, 7News reported.

The image helped police trace his movements down Flinders Street to Swanston Street.

It was at the intersection of Flinders and Swanston streets that 22-year-old Ms Dixon said goodbye to her partner on Tuesday about 11pm.

She told him she was happy to walk home and set off towards Princes Park, which takes almost an hour on foot.

Once she reached Princes Park, 900 metres from her home, she texted her partner letting him know she was almost there.

It was the last anyone heard from Ms Dixon.

Ms Dixon’s body was discovered at 2.40am the following morning.

Todd handed himself in less than 24 hours later and police hope to use the tracking of his movements as evidence.

He will front court again in October.
