Oodie product recalled over fears of 'serious burn injuries'

The Kids Beach Oodie in six patterns has been recalled because it doesn't have the appropriate safety warning label.

The popular Aussie brand The Oodie is the subject of a recall over fears one of its plush products could cause “serious burn injuries”.

The Kids Beach Oodie in six specific prints does not comply with safety requirements for kids’ nightwear because it “does not have the required fire hazard labelling”, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) announced on Thursday.

“There is a risk of serious burn injuries if exposed to a heat or flame source,” the ACCC’s recall warns.

Anyone who owns the Kids Beach Oldies in the following prints has ben urged to stop wearing them immediately:

Customers are urged to contact The Oodie to either have “a fire warning label with product attachment instructions” added to their item, or replace it with another Beach Oodie from the kids range.

“The Oodie will also be sending affected consumers an email with the above remedies,” the ACCC said.
