She was arrested in 2018 and 2019 after police launched an investigation into the hospital’s deaths in 2017.

There was also an internal investigation undertaken after medics found several premature babies had died from heart and lung failure, The Sun reported.

Letby appeared in court via a videolink. Her case management was discussed ahead of a possible trial in 2022.

She was remanded in custody.

Letby is currently behind bars at HM Prison Peterborough and will face court again on May 17.

She has yet to enter any pleas.
