Car dangles over train tracks after crashing through wall in Sydney

A driver has come dangerously close to crashing onto train tracks in Sydney’s southwest.

The 56-year-old woman was driving along Wellington Road, Sefton, which runs parallel to the train line, when she crashed through a wall on Wednesday afternoon.

Her car could be seen from the train platform at Sefton Railway Station, dangling over the edge towards the tracks.

A NSW Police spokesman said she suffered no injuries in the crash and there would be no further investigations.

“It’s believed she hit the accelerator instead of the brake,” he said.

“We’re treating it as a minor motor accident, and we don’t believe she had any health issues leading up to the crash either.”
