Boy run over in Sydney car park, airlifted to hospital with severe injuries

A five-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital with severe injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in a carpark at The Spit in Sydney's north on Wednesday morning.

The boy suffered multiple lower limb injuries when he fell from his bike at The Spit Reserve car park and was then run over by a car at low speed.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter landed near the scene just after 10am.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were also quickly on the scene to treat the boy, with police securing the area.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further treatment to the boy who remained conscious.

Emergency service crews then worked together to convey the boy to the helicopter. He was airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
