Man shot in the head during drive-by in Sydney

A man has been shot in the head during a drive-by in Sydney's south-west overnight.

The man, 39, was sitting in a parked car in the driveway of a home on Priam Street, Chester Hill, about 8.10pm on Wednesday night when he was shot in the head and hand.

He got out of the car and managed to make it into the house.

Emergency services treated the man's wounds, one just above his right ear.

He has since been taken to hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Neighbours told Seven News the house has been targeted before.

Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command are investigating.

Police continue to examine the crime scene at the property and are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
They are searching for a blue Commodore station wagon.
