Body found after car lost in floodwaters near Lismore

A body has been found following a search for a car swept into floodwaters in northern NSW.

Police divers found the body on Saturday morning, believed to be that of a 72-year-old man who went missing with his vehicle last Wednesday in Leycester Creek, Larnock.

The car became trapped in floodwaters on August 24 before being swept from a concrete causeway, leaving the elderly man clinging to a tree.
