Sydney man reportedly shot with taser during AFP operation

The man at the centre of an armed police stand off in Sydney's west was reportedly stunned with a taser after police stormed the house.

The Australian Federal Police has confirmed that the police operation in Bossley Park has now been resolved and a man is in custody.

An AFP spokesperson told media that the man was assisting police with an ongoing investigation.

Earlier today, heavily armed AFP police officers stormed a home in Sydney’s west, with loud bangs heard from inside.

Tactical response officers with high-powered rifles surrounded the two-storey home in Bossley Park, before moving in around 1.20pm.

7 News reporter Matthew Snelson said three loud banging sounds were heard as police went into the home.

Paramedics have now arrived at the scene.

An AFP spokesperson has confirmed that the incident does not pose any immediate danger to the community.

"This incident is not related to any threat to national security, and there is no immediate danger to the safety of the community," they said.

They noted that as the matter is currently ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this point.

More details to come.
