Couple's 'perfect' wedding day before husband killed during burglary

The wife of a police officer who was killed in the line of duty married him in a ‘perfect’ wedding just four weeks ago.

Andrew Harper, 28, died after being dragged by a vehicle while attending a burglary on Thursday night (local time) in Berkshire, southeast England.

Ten people, including a 13-year-old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and an investigation has been launched.

Just two weeks ago, Lissie Harper shared a picture of her beaming at her new husband.

Posting to Facebook after the couple got married on July 18, Mrs Harper talked of her “beautiful” wedding to the police officer.

“I can't believe our wedding was almost two weeks ago, we have just had a sneaky peak of some of our photos from our amazing photographer, so get ready for wedding spam,” she said.

“Thank you so much to everyone who came and who helped to make it the most perfect day, the sun was shining and the venue was incredible. We could not have asked for more,” she added.

In a separate post shortly after they got married, the couple’s wedding photographer, Mark Lord, described the day as “beautiful”.

“Lissie made her way on her very proud father’s arm out of the house and across the lawns,” he wrote.

“The guests all turned their heads to watch her as she came across the bridge to her expectant groom who was waiting at the arbour.

“It was a beautiful service & the very happy couple made their way back down the aisle to the congratulations of their friends & family.

“They walked across the bridge as Mr & Mrs & back to the beautiful house.”

Meanwhile, PC Harper’s grandmother, Maureen Shrimpton, paid tribute to her grandson.

"Our grandson Andrew was killed last night while doing his police work. So proud of him. Our love goes to his lovely wife, Mum and Dad, brother and all of his family and friends. Love from Nan and Bubba xxx," she wrote.
