MEL GIBSON 'FURIOUS' AT PUBLIC DUMPING

First he was hired, then he was fired. In a controversial move by Warner Bros. Studios, Mel Gibson was hired to play a Bangkok tattoo artist in the upcoming film, "The Hangover Part II." Then, in an even more controversial move, reportedly due to cast and studio exec backlash, Gibson was given the flick from the film late last week. Gibson's casting in the minor role was seen as revival of sorts for his faltering film career.

"He doesn't understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance in the first 'Hangover' movie, while Mel was kicked to the kerb," a source close to Gibson said, "Everybody deserves a second chance."

Gibson has reportedly been replaced in the film by a less controversial Liam Neeson. Alan Nierob, who represents both Gibson and Neeson, issued a scathing statement over the firing and hiring, quipping the new casting was "pending clearance of cast and crew background check."

Gibson's recent scandals include allegations of assault and verbal abuse towards his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, as well as previous anti-Semitic remarks and an arrest.
