Marianne Faithfull In Hospital After Testing Positive For Coronavirus

British singer-songwriter Marianne Faithfull has been hospitalised after testing positive for coronavirus.

The 73-year-old’s agent confirmed the news on Saturday night, revealing she was receiving treatment for Covid-19, the illness caused by the virus.

“Marianne Faithfull’s manager @Ravard_Rrancois has confirmed that Marianne is being treated for Covid-19 in hospital in London,” a post shared on her press representative’s Twitter account explained.

“She is stable and responding to treatment, we all wish her well and a full and speedy recovery.”

Marianne rose to fame in the 1960s, with hits including Come And Stay With Me and As Tears Go By, the latter of which was co-written by Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

She’s since released 21 studio albums, the most recent of which, Negative Capability, was released in 2018.

In addition to her music career, Marianne has also enjoyed success as an actress, both on the stage and in films like Girl On A Motorcycle, I’ll Never Forgive What’s ’Isname and, more recently Marie Antoinette.

Marianne also played God in two episodes of the UK sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.
