Manchester City will remind Phil Foden of his responsibilities after being filmed playing football with members of the public.

Foden appeared to break social distancing guidelines in the wake of coronavirus with his impromptu game on Formby beach – and also gathered together for a group photograph.

While the Premier League champions plan to speak to the 20-year-old, he is not expected to face internal disciplinary action, as was the case with teammate Kyle Walker, who hosted a private party during lockdown.

The relaxing of lockdown rules regarding outdoor exercise is likely to be taken into consideration when dealing with Foden.

Premier League clubs are currently preparing for the return of top flight football, with players and staff facing regular tests.

The most recent round of tests of 1130 players and staff returned no new positive results.

The season is provisionally planned to restart on June 17, with City facing Arsenal - the first top flight game in this country to be postponed as a result of Covid-19.
