Man charged after 'mutilated' body found in barrel
WARNING - GRAPHIC DETAILS: A man has been charged with gross abuse of a corpse after a dead woman’s naked body was found in a barrel at an Ohio home last week.
The remains of 21-year-old Cecily Cornett were found on June 30 at the Middletown residence of William Slaton, 35, but the cause of her death remains under investigation, according to police.
Slaton was arrested after police allege he tossed the barrel over a backyard fence when officers arrived.
He’s charged with gross abuse of a corpse, evidence-tampering and failure to report a crime or death.
A message seeking comment was left for his attorney.

The 35-year-old reportedly told detectives he found Ms Cornett hanging in the basement, the publication reported.
"He advised after using narcotics that he woke and went into the basement where he found the victim hanging in the basement," documents state.
Slaton will appear in court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
