Maiden eightball singles title to Collis
Blake Collis etched his name into the local eightball record books when claiming last weekend’s Mortgage Solutions Australia summer singles title.
Collis, who won the 2007 Goldfields open doubles title, defeated reigning champion Jason Dimer to win his maiden singles event.
Dimer’s latest effort continues his run of recent good form after he was victorious in the Dax Wasley singles event prior to Christmas.
Broken Hill teammates Sean Foreman and Travis Chisholm finished third and fourth respectively.
Meanwhile, the association will crown a new champion team tonight when Grand Blue and Workers’ Club face-off in the grand final.
Grand Blue progressed to the final on the back of a 9-2 triumph over rivals Grand Gold while Workers’ Club claimed a comfortable 9-4 victory over defending champions, Tower.
After a sluggish start to the season, Grand Blue ended the domestic rounds as minor premiers and will be looking for their third title success after claiming back-to-back flags in 2007-08.
