Kyle Sandilands storms out of radio show live on-air: 'Stop the show'

The shock jock said he felt 'exhausted' and went home.

Kyle Sandilands stormed out of his popular radio show live on-air on Thursday morning after fighting with his producers.

The 51-year-old shock jock, who is well known for being direct with his colleagues, complained that the Kyle & Jackie O Show team were “killing his vibe” and he wanted to go home.

“Okay, stop the whole show, turn that music off,” Kyle demanded.

“This show is not fun,” his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson agreed. “The energy is off with everybody.”

The breakfast show’s team members then began attacking each other on-air after producer Pete Deppeler told newsreader Brooklyn Ross to have “more energy”, to which Brooklyn told him to “piss off” and called him a “b**ch”.

Other producers also chimed in and complained about their co-workers’ behaviour in the office until Jackie told them all to stop.

“You’re killing my vibe, guys,” she exclaimed. “I am so bored.”

Tensions reached a boiling point when Kyle announced he’d had enough of everyone’s antics and was ready to go home.

“I’m exhausted as an entertainer,” he said. “Bye everyone, see you guys.”

Jackie then decided she wouldn’t be doing the show by herself and also said goodbye to their listeners, who had no idea what was going on.

“I’m going too then, I’m not staying,” she remarked.

Kyle's birthday surprise

Although he left work early on Thursday morning, Kyle showed up on Friday to celebrate his 52nd birthday one day early.

His team of producers surprised him in the KIIS studio car park with large bouquets of balloons as he arrived to work in the morning.

After being handed a takeaway coffee that read ‘HBD 4 TMR’ (happy birthday for tomorrow) on the lid, the father-of-one also received an impressive birthday cake featuring a small gold crown on top - which he quickly placed on his own head.

“Oh my god,” he said as he walked into the office. “I’m overwhelmed.”
