Kyle Sandilands among 300 households to receive angry letter after two-night party

Loud music and shouting could be heard until the early hours on both nights, sparking a 600-word letter branding the host 'selfish and "disgraceful'.

Kyle Sandilands has weighed in on the uproar in his affluent Sydney neighbourhood created by a "wild" party which spanned two nights, and prompted an "irate" resident to write a 600-word letter publicly branding the host "selfish" and "disgraceful".

The radio host shared on-air on Monday he could hear the music from "across the bay" and had trouble getting his baby to settle as the party raged on at the Vaucluse house earlier this month. He was one of 300 homes in the area that a couple of days later received the angry letter from a neighbour rallying for support against the "disruptive" behaviour.

"It's symptomatic of the degradation in values, and the utter entitlement and disregard for the wellbeing of oneself," the letter read. "Which is becoming increasingly prevalent amongst the current generation and is evident the world over."

The neighbour confirmed he would be submitting a police report and encouraged others to follow suit, providing his email address for others to get in touch.

Kyle Sandilands weighs in on 'wild' party

Sandilands confirmed on-air he received one of the letters in his own letterbox and "had a little laugh", saying he was thinking the same about the "wild" party but "never would have typed" it himself.

"I remember it happening, we've got a baby [who] goes to bed at like 7:30 at night... We had to increase the volume of the baby monitor thing just to drown out the noise," he said. "I did remember saying to Tegan [his wife], 'Jesus, these people, this is the second day they've been going all night'."

He admitted if the offending home had been next door to his he would have been "out with a power hose squirting these kids down".

Resident apologised and issue has been 'resolved'

Sandilands interviewed the neighbour who wrote the "irate" letter, and shared there had been communication between him and the homeowner who was the party host's dad.

"The father of the household got in contact with me with the email I provided," the neighbour, identified as Sam, told KIIS FM. "It wasn't an ideal exchange but I felt at the end it was basically resolved."

It was later revealed the party host was a 23-year old who acknowledged to Sandilands the party went on a "bit late" and he did "push the line" with the noise curfew — with loud music required to cease at midnight in NSW to minimise neighbourhood disruption.

"I do apologise to my neighbours on that behalf, I'm very sorry about that," he said, before adding that he believed the neighbour could have "handled [the situation] in a much more mature way" rather than write the aggressive letter.
