Koala spotted casually 'shopping' at Coles

Shoppers at a Coles supermarket near Adelaide got an unexpected surprise on Wednesday morning when a koala casually wandered into the store.

The koala was discovered hanging out in the dairy section of Coles Dernancourt by bemused staff and shoppers.

“No-one saw it sneak in but it was found in the dairy section,” a Coles spokesperson told Yahoo7.

“Our team made sure customers gave the koala plenty of space, and a customer contacted the local wildlife authority.”

Photographs show the koala looking very calm and unhurried as it wandered through the store.

“After about five to 10 minutes, the koala idled out of the supermarket and went on with its koala business,” the Coles spokesperson said.

“The wildlife authority checked on it’s welfare and it’s said to be doing fine.”

Staff nicknamed the furry visitor Caramello.
