Keno winner's kind pledge after scoring 'magical' $2.2 million jackpot

The South Australian woman matched all numbers in the Spot 10 Keno game on Wednesday.

A Keno player can't believe her luck after scoring a mega $2.2 million win having matched all 10 numbers in the spot 10 jackpot in Wednesday's draw.

The long-time player admitted she's come close a "couple of times" but never quite crossed the line and shared what she'll now do with her new-found millions after the mega win.

The South Australian winner told The Lott officials she's "still in shock" after learning she'd won a "magical" $2,269,061 prize. "I'm still pinching myself. I can't believe it has happened," she said.

Woman's generous offer after mega Keno win

The woman from Paralowie in Adelaide admitted "I feel as though this win has been brewing for quite some time," and now she's finally able to help her family, and donate to charity as she's always wanted.

"I've always enjoyed Keno! I think I’ve treated myself to tickets into the draws for eight years. I've played the same Keno numbers ever since I won $20 in a Powerball draw. My favourite numbers are 30 and 74," she said.

"I want to buy a house and go on a holiday, I'm also a grandmother of six grandchildren, a big family," she added

"I'll definitely be helping my family, especially my daughter who has gone through a rough time. I’d love to donate to some charities too. Probably Save the Children. I want to help those who are suffering."

The winning entry was purchased at Paralowie Village Lotteries in the woman's hometown. "Everyone clapped for me when I realised, I’d won. It was so wonderful. I always visit Paralowie Village Lotteries. It’s my local store," she said.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 10 prize, a player must match all 10 of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.

In 2023, there were more than 1.52 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $87.5 million. This included 33 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $7.44 million. The Spot 10 prize was won three times during this period, including a $2.3 million prize.
