Serial killer Ivan Milat back in hospital after cancer diagnosis

Notorious serial killer Ivan Milat is back in hospital more than two months after being released following a cancer diagnosis.

Milat was transferred from Long Bay jail to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Friday afternoon.

It is understood the reason he was transferred was not life-threatening.

The 74-year-old spent two weeks at Prince of Wales in May when he was diagnosed with oesophagus and stomach cancer.

Milat was found guilty in 1996 of murdering seven backpackers whose bodies were found in makeshift graves in Belanglo State Forest in the 1990s.
