Heartwarming act after man saves mother and daughter at beach

Samantha Whiting was at the beach with her youngest daughter Hayley when she noticed her struggling in the water.

The Texas mother swam as hard as she could to reach her daughter, but underestimating the current, she too found herself in trouble.

As things quickly turned deadly, the pair began to sink as Ms Whiting yelled for help.

That’s when a stranger named Kevin Cozzi, swam out to save them and managed to pull them both to safety.

“If it wasn’t for him risking his life in such a selfless act I would have lost not only my own life but my baby girl,” Ms Whiting says.

After recovering from the near miss, the relieved mother wanted to find a way to thank the man responsible for saving her and her daughter. So after learning about his upcoming wedding, she decided to share her story online via a GoFundMe campaign in hopes she could help contribute to the special day.

"I want to raise money for Kevin and his fiancée to have their dream wedding and honeymoon... Lord knows he deserves so much more than this," Ms Whiting wrote on fundraiser page which has since raised over $50,000.

While Ms Whiting said Mr Cozzi and his future wife remain humble and insist they don’t deserve anything for the heroic act, the mother is determined to help out any way she can.

“I feel like if I had the money to give them anything in life I would, because they saved my world, my child.

“My family will now have a bond with this man and his family forever, we ARE family now.”
