'Grinch' caught driving through Christmas display outside home

An apparent Grinch has been spotted on CCTV plowing through a Christmas display outside a suburban home.

The mystery culprit was caught on surveillance footage on Sunday night by a neighbour’s camera in Greenwood, Indianapolis.

In the clip the man can be seen getting out of a black SUV and then walking up to take a closer look at the front yard where Casie Arnold says her family had a 3.7m inflatable snowman.

The man gets back into the vehicle, backs up and drives through the family’s yard and over the decoration.

Ms Arnold says they heard a pop while watching a Christmas movie. Tire tracks were in the yard.

“It’s very disturbing to see someone pull in front of your house, get out of the car, look at the scene – kind of look around with intention to do damage,” Arnold told US television station RTV6.

Arnold says she wonders if the driver was possibly a Grinch who doesn’t like Christmas. She revealed neighbours had previously experienced similar incidents.

She has reported the incident to police who are looking for information on the suspect.
