Elderly man found trapped under lorry after crash

An elderly man has been seriously injured after he became trapped under a lorry following a crash in Birmingham.

It happened in Alcester Road South, near the junction of Woodthorpe Road, at about 18:15 BST on Thursday.

The pedestrian, in his 80s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with injuries that could be life changing, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The lorry driver stayed at the scene after the crash and assisted West Midlands Police with their inquiries

The force has appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
