Dramatic moment beachgoer's 4WD stolen from popular Aussie beach
The surfer was left behind on foot when a man made off with his Toyota Prado at Duranbah Beach at Tweed Heads.
Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment a surfer's 4WD was stolen from right in front of his eyes at a popular Aussie beach, with the video showing stunned onlookers watching on in amazement as the brazen theft took place.
Vision shows a group of surfers standing around the footpath at Duranbah Beach at Tweed Heads at around 2pm on Sunday watching on as the saga unfolds.
The men can be heard in the video repeating "Oh my God, oh my God" as a white Toyota Prado is seen driving over the top of a grassed area, along a footpath and onto the road in the distance.

"What! Holy sh*t, f**k," a man can be heard saying, while others stand around and watch in awe as the 4WD disappears from view up a hill.

In this distance, the car's owner can seemingly be seen chasing after the vehicle before it sped off, raising his hands into the air in confusion as he's left alone on foot.
According to police, the car was believed to have been taken by a man who stole a set of keys while the surfer was out in the water.
Police confirm vehicle later recovered
Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, a NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed the vehicle had since been recovered at Tweed Heads and seized for forensic examination.
"At about 2.10pm on Sunday, police were called to a beach reserve on Coral Street, Tweed Heads, following reports a car had been stolen," the spokeswoman said.
"On arrival, officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District were told a man had taken keys from a locker before stealing a white Toyota Prado. Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
