Dog miraculously escapes injury after shocking animal cruelty attack

A dog who was filmed being attacked by a man in North Mackay has miraculously escaped serious injuries.

Jaboo, a four-year-old Bull Arab cross, made headlines earlier this week as RSPCA Queensland investigated an alleged attack on the pooch.

Despite concerns over the pooch’s welfare, he is said to be fine.

“The dog, now in RSPCA care, has tested positive to heartworm but no other complications are apparent at this time,” RSPCA Queensland wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

RSPCA Queensland spokesman Michael Beatty added he had “no obvious injuries” and “seems to be okay”.

Inspector Rebecca Neilsen, from RSPCA Queensland, told The Courier-Mail the pooch seemed happy in her company.

“He’s very relaxed in my air-conditioning and he’s very happy,” she told the paper.

The man accused of attacking Jaboo has been charged with animal cruelty.

He will face Mackay Magistrates Court at a later date.
