Dallas star Ken Kercheval dies at the age of 83

Ken Kercheval, a star of US drama series Dallas, has died at the age of 83.

A spokeswoman at the Frist Funeral Home in Kercheval’s hometown of Clinton, Indiana, confirmed the actor’s death to the Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

The publication added Kercheval’s agent Jeff Fisher also confirmed he had died.

No further details surrounding his death have been revealed, but The Daily Clintonian newspaper reported he died on Sunday.

In 1994, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. It led to him having to have part of a lung removed.

His acting credits include appearances in ER, Starsky and Hutch, and Walker Texas Ranger.

But he was best known as Cliff Barnes in the series Dallas which ran from 1978 to 1991.

Kercheval is survived by five children.
