'Quintessential Aussie story': Cricketer suffers horror jaw injury while sledging
In what’s being described as the ‘quintessential Aussie cricket story’, a local player in Victoria claims to have dislocated his jaw while sledging.
Jayden Regan was playing for Hastings in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association recently when he did himself a serious mischief.

According to the Frankston Standard Leader, Regan took a catch to dismiss Dromana batsman Jeff Bluhm for 99 and decided to give him a real send-off.
“We got a bit excited and started to carry on as you do and then I thought, ‘nah I’ll give it a bit more,’” Regan said.
“And then the jaw just fell out of place.”
He reportedly drove himself to Rosebud Hospital, where doctors had to pop his jaw back into place.
“Once I got to the hospital I was screaming there,” he said.
They took me straight in and the doctor had to put his thumbs in the back of my mouth and crack it back in.
“The pain then went straight away.”
The hilarious story has caught the attention of the world’s media, with a number of overseas journos in Australia for the Australian Open.
“Perhaps the quintessential Aussie cricket story,” Simon Briggs said on Twitter.

Smith gets better of Labuschagne in BBL
Meanwhile, Steve Smith was only too happy to claim bragging rights over good mate Marnus Labuschagne following his first Big Bash League appearance in six years.
The Sixers moved into the crucial second position on the ladder with an eight-wicket win over the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on Thursday.
Both Smith and Labuschagne were making their first BBL appearances after sharing a summer-long bromance with Australia at Test and ODI level.
So it was Smith of course who took the catch when Labuschagne (3) mis-timed a pull shot off English quick Tom Curran (2-25).
He then smoked the first delivery he faced from the Heat player when batting for four during a brief innings of nine.
"Nice to catch him. Nice to hit him for a four first ball as well," Smith told AAP.
"I guess I got the bragging rights over him tonight which is nice."
