Construction workers filmed sleeping on the job - 50m above the ground

A group of exhausted electrical workers have been filmed sleeping on the job – some 50 metres off the ground.

One of the group’s colleagues, Xiao Jiang, filmed the men napping on a transmission tower in southern China.

In the clip, filmed in Chenzhou City in Hunan Province on April 5, several workers can be seen using safety ropes to tie themselves to the power pylon and take a nap hanging perilously high in the air.

According to Xiao Jiang, he and his workmates need to climb up to 100 metres up the pylons which he says can be extremely taxing for their bodies.

He revealed they only go down when it’s time to eat or finish their shift.

The footage quickly circulated on Chinese social media, with many users praising the men for their hard work.

“You guys are great... be safe,” one comment read.

“Please make sure to get home safely, your families are waiting for you,” another said.
