'Complicated' burst pipe repair at tourist spot
Engineers will be working throughout the weekend to repair a burst pipe at the Severn Ham.
Tewkesbury residents would not experience any disruption to their water supply while works were ongoing, a spokesperson for Severn Trent confirmed.
The Ham is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), meaning the fix required careful planning.
“We’re making good progress repairing the water pipe on the Severn Ham and continuing to work closely with Natural England and the local council to manage this carefully," a Severn Trent spokesperson said.
'Complicated repair'
"Our teams are working hard with the right fittings and equipment ready, but due to its size and location, we’re doing this very carefully to protect the local environment and continue to make sure everyone has water," the spokesperson added.
"While this is a complicated repair, we’re working as quickly and safely as we can – and everyone can be assured we’ll be making sure the Severn Ham is returned to its original condition.”
