'Biggest launch': Woolworths reveals 60 new products
More than 60 new products will hit Woolworths' shelves aimed at making dinner time more convenient for Aussies, as the supermarket capitalises on housebound consumers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Google data revealed Australians searching for meal inspiration in April increased by a staggering 120 per cent compared to the same time last year.
Five of the new products being launched this week are under the new Woolworths ‘&Veg’ range, and include flavoured beef mince and meatballs.
Those looking for a winter warmer can get their hands on the new ‘3 Serves’ range of vegetarian soups which includes five different flavours.
Aussies with a hungry family to feed can whip up dinner in just 10 minutes with the new stir-fry kits that come in two different flavours.
Woolworths fresh food director Paul Harker said people were spending more time at home than ever before and were looking for convenient ways to feed the family.

“This is our biggest launch of products since Christmas and we’ve made sure each one is full of flavour and easy to prepare,” he said in a statement.
“We hope this range will provide a little helping hand when it comes to creating nutritious meals for loved ones.”
The new products come after Woolworths experienced months of unprecedented revenue growth due to COVID-19.
Due to panic-buying, Woolworths reported food sales of $11.1 billion for the 13 weeks to April 5, which is a comparable growth rate of 10.3 per cent.
The result falls short of Coles, which reported an unprecedented 13.1 per cent sales growth and $8.23 billion in third quarter supermarket revenue.
Woolworths is also launching a range of COOK Traybakes – products that can be cooked in under 35 minutes – and a slow-cooked meats and one pan wonder range.
Ready-to-cook roasts are also part of the new product ranges due to hit shelves this week.
