The best Aldi specials this week

Australian grocery shoppers have fallen for Aldi in a way that's the envy of Coles and Woolworths.

Earlier this year a study found customers had formed "an emotional connection" to Aldi Australia. For example, they would miss it if the local Aldi branch closed, while they would not feel the same if Woolworths or Coles shut down.

The same research predicted the budget supermarket would challenge Coles and Woolworths' market share within just ten years.

Loyal Aldi fans can be seen queuing up before the store even opens on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, to nab the limited-stock Special Buys homewares on offer.

Groceries are also sold at a reduced price under the Super Savers monicker, although in percentage terms the discount isn't quite as the half-price deals offered at Coles and Woolworths.
