Aussie driver's creepy encounter in the middle of an empty street
In the dark of the night, it's probably the last thing you'd expect to see.
Eerie dashcam footage has captured the moment an Aussie driver narrowly avoided a potential carjacking by a mysterious-looking figure in the dark of the night.
The man was headed along Pinelands Road in Sunnybank Hills, in Brisbane's south, on Saturday night when a second man wearing a bright top suddenly appears in the middle of an empty street, the Daily Mail reported.
Man leaps onto road, blocking driver
Footage shows the figure in the distance run out onto the road, before stopping directly in front of the car, blocking its path.
The driver tries to swerve, but the man again jumps out in front of the vehicle.
Forced with nowhere else to turn, the driver then quickly does a U-turn, narrowly avoiding the figure before heading off in the opposite direction.

Residents claim carjackings 'common' in area
While the motives of the creepy-looking man's actions can't be verified from the footage alone, it appears he had intended on approaching the driver of the car when it came to a complete halt.
Online, Brisbane residents claimed that carjackings were common in the area.
"They make you stop then steal your car... a lot of it going on in the area unfortunately, stay safe," a person said. "Waiting for you to slow down and grab the car," another commented on the video.
Queensland Police have been contacted in regards to the footage.
