'Rookie mistake': Tinder user's desperate attempt to find 'Claudia' after swiping left
In a modern day Cinderella tale, a young man went to extreme lengths to find romance after making a “rookie mistake” while using dating app Tinder.
The attractive face of Missouri State University student Claudia Alley popped up while Hayden Moll was scrolling through the list of single ladies.
He was on her profile long enough to scope out some pictures, read her bio, and learn she was also a student at his university.
But he made the huge mistake of swiping left - to “nope” her as a potential match, and inadvertently swiped her from his life.
Those familiar with the app will know premium users pay a fee to enable them to swipe back on profiles they didn’t mean to ditch. Unfortunately for Hayden, he was not one of those subscribers.
So the young man resorted to a bold move to try and track down the mystery woman.
Mr Moll sent an earnest email to the university’s student database of 26,000 hoping his "Tinderella" was among them.
“Hello all Claudia’s of Missouri State. I made a rookie mistake on Tinder. I accidentally swiped left on Claudia’s profile (left is bad) and I really wanted to swipe right.”
He described the mystery woman’s profile and asked that if she read the email, to respond stating “left” (nope) or “right” (yes) if she was interested in going to “get some donuts or something”.
The grand gesture appeared to worked, because Claudia saw the email and tweeted it out to her followers.
“THIS GUY LITERALLY EMAILED EVERY CLAUDIA AT MISSOURI STATE TO FIND ME ON TINDER,” she tweeted on Sunday.

It appears the romantic gesture has many divided, with some quick to call Mr Moll a “creep” or “stalker” while others have praised him for the bold, romantic move.

“If I did this I’d get blocked and a restraining order,” one man wrote.
One woman tweeted: “The line between charming and creepy is directly correlated with attractiveness.”
Ok so almost every person’s reply I’ve read says to give him a chance. But emailing everyone on campus by the same name feels creepy to me.

But what everyone really wants to know is, are the pair going to get that donut, or what?
