Four-year-old's homework question baffles mum and the internet

A four-year-old’s homework question has baffled the internet with many still questioning what the correct answer is.

UK mum Annie Jordan took to Facebook for help on her daughter’s question and it left many users completely stumped, Daily Mail reports.

“Right please someone tell me what the last one is, because I literally don’t have a clue!” she wrote including the question sheet.

The sheet features a number of pictures with students asked to write answers in the boxes next to them.

“I can write CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words, I can hear and say initial and final sounds in words,” it reads at the top.

The first five seem relatively easy – pan, tap, hat, rat and hen, but it’s the final question which has everyone puzzled.

The question features what looks like an ice rink. Some Facebook users have suggested the correct answer is “ice”, but that’s been put out of the equation because it features two vowels at the beginning and end of the word.

Ms Jordan later confirmed the teacher told her the correct answer is “rink”.

Some users suggested the answer the teacher gave can’t be right as it did not fit the CVC pattern, but one noted in phonics that it does.

“In phonics, this would count as a CVC as three sounds r i nk,” the user said.
