Police release haunting new clue into grisly murder of teen girls

Investigators have released a chilling new clue as they search for the person who murdered two US teenage girls soon after they shared the last known images of themselves on Snapchat.

It’s been ten months since 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German were killed and dumped under a train bridge in the small town of Delphi, Indiana.

The girls were dropped off at local landmark Monon High Bridge on February 13 and were supposed to be picked up from the same spot later that afternoon.

A haunting photo of Abigail walking along railway tracks was uploaded to Snapchat in the hours before her death. It’s thought to be the last time either of the girls were seen alive.

As the search for their killer moves into its tenth month, police have released an audio clip of a man simply saying “down the hill” that was found on Liberty’s phone.

A sketch was also developed in an attempt to identify a suspect who was seen leaving the area on the afternoon that the girls were killed.

“He’s not just someone we want to talk to; we consider him a suspect in these murders,” Sgt. Tony Slocum told local media.

“We’re officially calling him a suspect versus a subject we’re looking to speak to. He’s going to be our main suspect at this time.”

Liberty’s grandparents, Mike & Becky Patty, say the disturbing audio clip has provided them with renewed motivation to find the man responsible.

“We aren’t the type of people to just sit around ... so we have tried to spread the word. Our goal is to get his face out there,” Mrs Patty said while appearing on US talk show Dr Phil.

“We have a hole in our family.”
