Six kittens found tortured, killed and dumped in Sydney park
WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: A hunt is underway for the person responsible for brutally murdering six kittens and dumping them in a park in Sydney’s northwest.
A member of the public made the horrific discovery during a morning jog in Crestwood Reserve, Baulkham Hills shortly after 7.30am Tuesday.
The kittens, all aged between six to eight weeks, were collected by inspectors from the Animal Welfare League NSW, who discovered the full extent of their injuries through a series of post mortems.
They are now hunting the person responsible, telling Yahoo7 News that all the kittens had been stabbed, while four had their tails removed.
“It’s horrific, our detectives are really determined to find the person responsible,” the spokesperson said.
“All of the kittens had been subjected to significant blunt force and many had severe and spinal injuries.”
The spokesperson said they were “not used to seeing something this awful”.
AWL NSW Inspector Jamie Wakefield said the case is deeply concerning, and is calling for information from the public to help find the perpetrator of this crime.
“This is a very serious example of animal cruelty, and it appears that these innocent kittens were tortured and in immense pain prior to their deaths,” Inspector Wakefield said.
“It is very worrying that the person who committed this crime is at large, and we would like to ensure we are able to find and prosecute them before they can inflict more cruelty on other animals in the area.
