'I won't have to work weekends anymore': Tradie finds out he won $2 million lotto

A tradie from Western Australia has come forward as the winner of a $2 million lottery, speaking about how the windfall will change his life.

The man from Joondalup is aged in his late thirties and had just worked a 12-hour day when he checked his numbers - seeing his day improve dramatically.

“The first thing that popped into my head when I’d realised we’d won, was ‘I won’t have to work weekends anymore’,” the man said.

The tradie is excited about being able to spend more time with his wife and children, saying he had been working six or seven days a week for as long as he could remember.

He will be cutting down on those extra hours straight away.

“Mate, the thought of hanging up my work belt tomorrow at 4pm and sleeping in on Saturday instead of getting up at 4.30am … it’ll feel like all my Christmases have come at once,” he laughed.

The man says he will reduce his hours after the win.

For others hoping to try their luck, the last Saturday $21m Superdraw for the year is taking place on October 28.
