Shocking video shows cops tasering restrained teen more than 40 times
WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT. A group of Tennessee deputies have been suspended after shocking footage showed them tasering a teenager while he was restrained.
Jordan Elias Norris, now 19, said he suffered more than 40 burns from the taser while he was held at Cheatham County Jail for drugs, theft and weapons charges in November.
Norris filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court, arguing the three deputies used "unreasonable and excessive force," the Tennessean reported.
The shocking footage shows the teenager strapped to the chair as the men appear to tase him.
'I'll keep on doing that until I run out of batteries,' the officer can be heard saying in the video.
Norris was allegedly stunned with the taser "four times totaling approximately fifty seconds on his stomach and legs."
The lawsuit accuses the deputies of acting in a "sadistic and malicious nature" and using unreasonable force on the teenager.
Three Cheatham County Sheriff's deputies have now been suspended.
'As Sheriff, I want our citizens to know that any inappropriate behavior that may have violated an individual's rights will not be tolerated,' Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove said.
'I have placed the employees involved on administrative leave while the investigation is conducted. We will work closely and cooperatively with the TBI and District Attorney's Office to ensure all facts are provided and all angles of this incident are thoroughly investigated.'
