Close call as 'human cheese grater' elevator almost crushes cleaner
Shocking CCTV video has captured the moment a cleaner was almost crushed in an elevator.
The footage, which surfaced online, shows the lift slamming shut before the woman was properly inside, nearly trapping her between its doors.
The video, believed to be from China, shows the woman backing into the lift ahead of her her trolley.
In split seconds, the heavy doors close in around her and she is sucked into the elevator as it shoots upwards.
The trolley remains caught between the doors as they slam closed while the lift rises, and the cart’s supplies are sent flying.
The close call has already been watched almost 56,000 times since it was posted to LiveLeak by user AnT00ni0 early this morning.
One viewer called the malfunctioning lift a “human cheese grater".
Others have slammed Chinese mechanics for what they say are a lack of safety locking measures common to the US and other western countries.
