Devoted dog hugs injured master after fall from tree
An adopted stray named Toby has stolen hearts around the world and proved man has no more loyal companion than dog.
Images of Toby refusing to leave his injured owner in Argentina have gone viral after thousands were struck by the dog’s devotion to his master.
The photos show Jesus Hueche, 28, laying stricken on a roadside as paramedics work on him.
All the while, Toby lays protectively across his chest, a clear look of concern on his yellow face throughout.
The images were posted to Facebook by Bahia Blanca’s local emergency services and quickyl propelled both Toby and Jesus into the national, then international, spotlight.
"One day we saw him on the street and adopted him, gave him love, food and is part of our family. For me he's like a son,” Jesus told Argentinian radio station La Brujula @4.
“He goes everywhere with me and lies in my bed until my wife kicks him out.”
It turned out Toby had little to worry about.
Despite Jesus falling several metres from a ladder while pruning branches, he was taken to hospital but swiftly discharged with only minor neck injuries.
